A Whirlwind Trip to Japan: Embracing Culture Amidst Busy Days

Embarking on a 10-day work trip to Japan promised to be an exciting yet demanding endeavour.

Touching down in Tokyo, I found myself amidst a bustling metropolis, pulsating with life and energy. My mission: to ensure smooth transfers for the Formula E at the lively Tokyo airport. Despite the hectic pace, I seized every opportunity to explore the city during my free time. From savouring delectable Japanese cuisine to marvelling at the intricate beauty of ancient temples. As I navigated the chaotic yet mesmerising Shibuya Crossing, I felt a sense of awe at the sheer magnitude of Tokyo's urban landscape.

Joined by my colleagues Dan, Charlie, and Heidi, the remainder of my stay in Japan was a whirlwind of activity as we organised smooth car rentals and facilitated logistics for the Japanese GP.  Distributed across the region in Nagoya, Yokkaichi, Suzuka and Tsu we hopped between different hotels and airports, our days were filled with meetings and coordination, ensuring everything was in place for over 30 clients to pick up over 300 vehicles.

Amidst the hustle and bustle, we discovered a gem of a restaurant, Coco Curry, where we found ourselves returning time and time again to savour its delectable offerings. While I indulged in its flavoursome dishes, Charlie set a record with ten visits, a testament to its irresistible allure.

Despite our busy schedule, Charlie and I managed to steal a moment away to visit the Suzuka Circuit, where we met with our clients and witnessed first-hand their lengthy preparations for the upcoming event. It was great to meet them face to face as working from home when back in the UK means majority of communication happens via emails.

As I boarded my 15-hour flight back home, I reflected on the experiences that defined my trip to Japan. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the camaraderie shared with my colleagues, each moment was imbued with a sense of fulfilment and gratitude. Despite the challenges and demands of the journey, I departed Japan with a newfound appreciation for its culture and a wealth of memories to cherish. Until we meet again, Japan. Arigato gozaimasu.
